With the end of Ironman 70.3 Lake Placid, I needed another east coast race to get in. My work schedule won’t let me go too far but the trip south to NJ will be quick. I’ve heard great things about the race director for this one so I’m expecting a great weekend on the shore.

This race is new to Ironman but Musselman has been around for years. In it’s first year as an IM branded race there was no way that I was missing out. I was hoping 2020 would happen but I’ll test myself at this one in 2021. It’s basically an hour from home so qualifies as my new hometown race now that Ironman 70.3 Syracuse is no longer active. I’m sure I’ll see plenty of friends from CNY at this one!

The Cohasset Triathlon is the Northeast Paratriathlon Regional Championship. It’s a sprint and looking at the course it looks like it’ll be a fast race. I always love my time on the coast of Massachusetts and look forward to this trip.

I picked this race up since there were friends from Virginia who knew the course and raved about it. I was looking forward to a race to do for fun and not push too hard in 2020. With the flat run, this was it. With the cancellation of the 2020 race, I’m even more excited to experience this in ‘21.

I've raced in Chattanooga more frequently than any other current Ironman race. I always see this as the start to my season, however I still might add some racing in before this one if we are able to next year (‘21). The course is one of my favorites - especially on the bike - and the crowd at the finish line is always enthusiastic. I’ve won the PC Division here, had a DNF at the World Championships here and also set a PR on this course. If nothing else, I have history with this race and I’m really thrilled to be back in Tennessee for this one.

I’ve always looked at riding the Tour of the Catskills. The race is near wear I grew up and I love returning home. The 2020 race is one day of 75 miles (shorter options exist) as opposed to a must-day event in the past. It’s got Devil’s Kitchen, a climb that I hear is exceptionally hard about 60 miles into the race.

This is my first gravel race and I’m hoping to do more of these in the future. Gravel riding challenges me in a way road cycling doesn’t.

This was the first Cassadagaman and it’s a hilly course. It’s takes place south of Buffalo, NY so just a couple hours away from me.

I've never raced this far west and signed up for this the day I bought my Salsa MTB.

This will be the first gravel grinder that I've done and I'll have my 13 year old son alongside of me for the last time around ~40 mile race.
